More 'Legend of Zelda' Coming to Nintendo's 3DS Before Summer

"Legend of Zelda" producer Eiji Aonuma announced on the MiiVerse "Legend of Zelda" community on Tuesday that two Gameboy Color titles from the series currently available on the Japanese 3ds eShop are making their way to "other territories some time before summer." This can only mean one thing for us here in the U.S. "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages" and "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons" will be happily downloaded onto our 3DSs very soon.

Aonuma went on to detail the "Link System," which allows players who download both games to share items and your character's name between the two games via passwords or, as he preferred to call them "secrets."

"The "Link System," which connects the two games, allows you to enter passwords, or "secrets," he writes. "Completing one of the games earns you a secret. Entering that secret in the other game lets you continue the story with the same character name and some of you items. Secrets earned while playing the second game can be use in the first game to unlock more items. There are many other variations including a different final boss battle and an extra hidden dungeon."

Here's to linking our Links through the "Link System."

Whether or not these codes are dynamically linked through save files or something like that, or if they just unlock content like the old-school passwords of the NES and SNES days is unclear. We'll have to find out when the games come to the U.S.
