According to Macworld, a patent has been granted that will allow the Apple Pencil to work with Mac trackpads. The Apple Pencil will be made more sophisticated than the one available. A recent report from Taiwanese website DigiTimes has confirmed the long running theory that the Apple MacBook Air 2017 will feature the USB-C port. However, there is no way to verify whether this report is 100 percent accurate or not.

Apple last updated its MacBook Air in March 2015. The 2016 update added more RAM power to the 13-inch model. That is why many believe that Apple will add a Retina Display to the MacBook Air 2017. But including the Retina Display may increase the cost of the device significantly.

It is also possible a brand new 15-inch Apple MacBook Air 2017 will get the Retina Display whereas the 13-inch model won't. According to TrustedReviews, Apple is in talks with for its Dynamic Keyboard Technology. The E-Ink board by Sonder may make an appearance in the Apple MacBook Air 2017.

The new MacBook Air models are expected to be thinner and lighter with amazing internal specs. As per Economic Daily News, models will feature new batteries, chassis and cooling modules. Thunderbolt 3 may also be integrated in the USB Type-C. Intel Kaby Lake processors will reportedly be used.

Many are of the opinion that Apple is losing interest in the MacBook Air line. The 11-inch MacBook Air may soon be retired and the 13-inch model may follow soon afterwards. However, the lineup won't be chopped entirely though the Apple MacBook Air 2017 will bring into existence a new kind of MacBook Airs.
