Samsung Chromebook Release Date, Latest News & Update: Details & Specs Of ‘Chromebook Pro’ Allegedly Leaked; Could This Device Be Coming Out Soon?

Samsung might not have had much luck with their Note 7, but that does not mean that the company will just be rolling over and let that kill it entirely. It has a host of other great products coming up including TVs, watches and the much anticipated Galaxy S8 smartphone.

A source has leaked recently which says that there could be another Chromebook soon, and its details and features have been revealed as well. Gizmodo reports that if the leak is true, then the Samsung Chromebook Pro would be another entry in the growing list of 2-in-1s with 360 degree hinge functionalities.

While most Chromebooks have bad displays, the rumored Chromebook Pro reportedly features a 2400 x 1600 resolution touchscreen display which puts it in line with topnotch Chromebooks like Google's Pixel devices. It is also reported that the upcoming device would be half inch thick, weigh 2.38 pounds and will come with a stylus.

Clients do not look closely at the processing power of Chromebooks, but this one reportedly rocks a six-core Rockchip processor which is capable of 4k content playback. The leak also says that this upcoming device has 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and over 10 long hours of battery power.

Engadget reports that while Samsung's Chromebook had focused on the budget-conscious crowd in its past projects, things are about to change in a big way. The upcoming Chromebook Pro will be made to cater to clients who want to experience a high-end Chrome experience with topnotch specs, features and functionality.

The touchscreen feature and 360 degrees rotation feature will not be the only selling point for this device since the Chromebook Pro will be wrapped in a full-metal shell, but will still only measure 0.55 inches at its thickest point. If rumors and store listings are correct, then one would have to spend around $499 to get this upcoming device when it comes out on October 24.

The price seems a little large for a Chrome OS device considering the processing power of its rivals like those from HP, but its increased compatibility for Android apps might make the added cost worth it. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more updates on your favorite games, tech news and updates!
