'Criminal Minds' Season 12 Spoilers: BAU Goes After A Killer Like No Other; Find Out What Prentiss Did While Away From Team

It looks like the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) will be having an early Halloween experience in the next episode of "Criminal Minds" Season 12. In episode 4 titled "Keeper", the team will be going after a serial killer living in the woods.

The promo for the episode of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 teases that the said serial killer will be like no other seen in the series reports Christian Times. The killer appears to have sharp claws that may lead the viewers to think that the BAU will be dealing with a supernatural being. The search for their killer will take the BAU along the Appalachian Trail located in rural Virginia.

Most of the team's members are seen in the "Criminal Minds" promo but the target seems to outruns them all. And, things turn more hair raising than before as the team continues their search for information and the killer himself. Many are expecting great things from the series, reports Cartermatt.

According to some reports, the killer has already claimed seven lives. He also loves to torture his victims first before he gives them a painful death. It remains to be seen if the team will be able to catch the killer before he claims another life in the coming "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode.

Leading the BAU in the investigation will be Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) who has replaced Hotch (Thomas Gibson) since the last episode where he was written off. It is now widely known that Gibson was fired while filming "Criminal Minds" Season 12 after an onset altercation with a writer/producer of the show.

Hotch's exit from "Criminal Minds" has not yet been properly addressed. It seems that he is on a temporary assignment and will not be on hand to help the team hunt for the Halloween killer.

Viewers of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 are just as curious as to what Prentiss has been doing when she was away from the BAU. According to Brewster in a CBS News interview, her character has been busy with running the Interpol for the four years that she was gone. But, she is happy for Prentiss to be back on the BAU full time specially since the character has been made powerful and thus has become invested in her new position in the team.

And that is what she will be seen as in this week's "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode airing on Wednesday, October 26. She will spearhead the arrest of the mysterious serial killer while at the same time making sure that he does not claim any more victims.
