There are rumors that Laurie Holden will join "The Americans" Season 5 to add some spice to Stan Beeman's (Noah Emmerich) love life. Holden's appearance features her reunion with Emmerich after their time in "The Walking Dead."
TVLine revealed that Holden will take on the recurring role of Renee in "The Americans" Season 5, a new woman in town who grabs the attention of Stan at the gym. Stan is amazed at how Renee can easily get along with the guys, and quickly wants to get closer to her.
Holden is best known for playing Andrea Harrison on AMC's "The Walking Dead" for three seasons. Before "The Americans" Season 5, she was also a guest star on NBC's "Chicago Fire," TNT's "Major Crimes," "The X-Files" and "The Shield."
Emmerich is also known for briefly appearing in "The Walking Dead" as CDC doctor Edwin Jenner. Both Holden and Emmerich co-starred in the first season of the zombie apocalypse series, although the latter was immediately killed off. Holden's arrival in "The Americans" Season 5 will mark their reunion after six years.
Renee will reportedly appear in the penultimate episode of "The Americans" Season 5, as a potential love interest for Stan. Beeman's friends immediately gets along with Renee, as she indulges in various guy activities like fly fishing, watching sports and drinking beer.
Renee may turn out to be the woman of Stan's dreams. On the other hand, she may have hidden secrets and cause Stan more pain as "The Americans" Season 5 progresses.
Deadline also stated that Brett Tucker will play Ben Stobert in a recurring role in "The Americans" Season 5. His character is described as charming, intelligent and passionate scientist involved in a serious project.
According to executive producers Joseph Weisberg and Joel Fields, there will most likely be important characters in "The Americans" Season 5, although they do not expect them to have much impact in the lives of the Jennings. "The Americans" Season 5 will have 13 episodes, while Season 6, which will be the last, will have 10.
