'Civilization VI' Latest News & Update: Game Preview, New Unit Stacking Gameplay & Combat Rules

Good news for "Civilization VI" expectants because today, Oct 21 is the big day of unleashing this strategy game. Of course, the best way to start the day is presenting a peek into the gameplay.

Gamers already know that there are tons of gameplay features in "Civilization VI" including a nuclear-toting Ghandi territory. There are new wars to wage, new buildings and strategies to employ as well. Now if these native features are not sufficient for very hungry gamers, no worries since there are several modding community at work already.

Now here is the fun part to expect for "Civilization VI," there will be dozens of DLC for sure. Of course, everything depends on game's reception and sales but previous titles in the franchise received at least 2 major expansion packs and other smaller bits of addendums, PCGamesN said. Apparently, strategy games like Civilization are designed for replays so these flexibility options and even third-party manipulations are tolerable.

Looking a bit into "Civilization VI" gameplay, nothing much has changed. Gamers should strategically place their structures to ensure efficient and quick response against attacks. There are structures called wonders and districts which were tied to certain spots on the map so these should also be taken into account as well, Trusted Reviews reported.

There are two types of "Civilization VI" warfare that gamers should be conscious. First is mutual declaration war who is more formal. Rules are being applied in this type of combat and it carries lesser penalty for being warmonger. Then there is instant attack option which gives element of surprise but carries heavy penalty.

One key change in "Civilization VI" combat gameplay is the possibility of unit stacking. This time around, gamers can pile up identical units to form a company. Apparently, stacking is being encouraged because there are bonuses depending on the number stacks. Example, 2 stacks provide +10 combat bonus and stacking another one on top gives additional +7 bonus.
