After what seemed like years of waiting, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere finally answered its greatest question: Who did Negan kill? The gory and heartbreaking season premiere revealed that Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeuhn) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) were the unlucky victims at Lucille's barbed-wire end, bringing Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) group down to nine.
Indeed, Glenn and Abraham went down in the most grotesque way possible in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere: getting beaten down to an unrecognizable pulp that Glenn's eyes were basically popping out of his head. Abraham's death, as Variety had noted, had been a misdirection--it was Glenn's demise that was largely foretold and Their deaths mark a shift in the power dynamics of Rick's group, who are now under the mercy of the oppressive Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Will Glenn come back?
But going past the tragedy that was "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere, fans are eager to know whether Glenn's death is a surefire thing. Fans would recall that Glenn has had close brushes with death before, as he did in the infamous dumpster episode, and they had especially hoped for his resurrection after he uttered his last words, "Maggie, I'll find you."
Unfortunately, it looks like Glenn has finally caught up with his fate in "The Walking Dead" comics, where he was slated to die in the landmark 100th issue. Thankfully, however, another comic book storyline--that Rick would lose his hand--has yet to happen in "The Walking Dead" Season 7.
Will Daryl die next?
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere has definitely left fans heartbroken over Glenn's timely demise. However, they may soon find themselves worrying about another "The Walking Dead" favorite: Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), who was kidnapped by the Saviors. A previous teaser for "The Walking Dead" revealed that one of the Saviors had gotten his hands on the iconic jacket. Does this mean Daryl will soon follow Glenn's footsteps?
