'Battlefield 1' News & Updates: New Morse Code Easter Egg Found, What Could It Mean?

EA's "Battlefield" series is known for having some pretty wacky Easter Eggs, and it should follow that their latest release, "Battlefield 1," isn't any different. Players have already found the first Easter Egg the game is willing to let them discover—mostly because it doesn't really try to hide it. It is a little tough to crack, however.

According to Games Radar, some players have reported seeing a pair of headphones on the map during games. Only one person can find and pick up the headphones like a weapon or item; after doing so and bringing it to an MCOM tower, they'll get a message broadcasted in Morse code. No one has managed to decode the Morse code message yet, despite it being easily decryptable. You can see how simple the messages seem to be in the YouTube video below.

Most "Battlefield 1" Easter Eggs usually take a while to decipher due to their nature of requiring a lot of people and time to crack, such as the giant Megalodon shark in "Battlefield 4." However, as mentioned, it's not like people nowadays don't know how to interpret Morse code, so it's only going to be a matter of time before someone gets the message. The only challenge here is to gather all the different messages if there are actually more than one.

What some "Battlefield 1" players do know, according to Eurogamer, is that the hidden MCOM stations that can be found in the game's sprawling multiplayer maps obviously point elsewhere. Nobody knows yet what the nature of these coded broadcasts is; they could lead to a hidden area, they could point to weapons, or they could just be something absolutely silly, such as "Battlefield 4"'s T-rex or Megalodon shark. GamenGuide will provide updates of this mysterious quest as soon as they become available.
