"Vampire Diaries" Season 8 News, Spoilers & Update: Damon Resists Evil Sybil By Thinking Of Elena; Nina Dobrev Back Only In Flashbacks?

The final season of the "Vampires Diaries" has finally aired on TV last Friday, and fans will be more thrilled by the appearance of Sybil, the new villain in Mystic Falls. The evil Sybil is controlling Enzo and Damon to do her will.

The premiere of the "Vampire Diaries" Season 8 sees Damon and Enzo being compelled to bring bad people for Sybil. According to Entertainment Weekly, Damon has turned off his humanity switch, which enabled him to kill just anyone he wants to kill.

However, Damon and Enzo seems to resist Sybil's power. In the first episode of "Vampire Diaries" Season 8, Bonnie and Stefan failed in their mission to save Enzo and Damon, but Enzo was able to leave clues for Bonnie, hoping that Bonnie and Stefan might find a way to save them. With the clues given to Bonnie, she was able to discover that Sybil was a siren.

Damon on the other hand, resists Sybil through journeying through his mind, remembering his times with Elena. In the "Vampire Diaries" Season 8 episode 2, Sybil will break into the memories of Damon with Elena.

It is also reported that Nina Dobrev will only be back in the "Vampire Diaries" Season 8, but only in flashbacks. Gamenguide previously reported that there is no confirmation yet that Nina Dobrev would come back to the series, as she will play the part of saving Damon.

However, TV Line confirmed in an interview with the "Vampire Diaries" TV series producer, Julie Plec that Dobrev's character "has a very strong presence this season, in the entire season, similarly to how she did last year." Although Nina only appears in flashbacks, fans can expect a great finale for "Vampire Diaries" Season 8.
