Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Release Date, Specs & Update: With Galaxy Note 7 Out; China Phone Is A Strong Contender To Google Pixel

With the Galaxy Note 7 good as gone, this China phone is making promise in becoming a strong competitor, even against Google Pixel.  This where the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 steps in.

According to CNET.com, The Xiaomi Mi Note 2, manufactured by Xiaomi Technologies, is a good alternative for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. With a distinctive body design of a curved glass on both sides, the Mi Note 2 has a 5.7-inch full HD display using the state-of-the-art flexible OLED screen technology that "lightly wraps around the edges," writes Engadget.

Considered to be lightweight, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2's ergonomic design makes gripping the device more comfortable, compared to the heftier Galaxy Note 7. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, it also provides a 6GB on RAM and 128GB on internal storage. With its Android operating system, the Mi Note 2 runs on a Xiaomi-customized MIUI 8 skin. Just like any skin out of China, this device lacks an app drawer.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2's main camera uses a higher resolution - the 22.56-megapixel Sony IMX318 sensor. Though it does not have optical stabilization qualities, such as the laser auto-focus, it does provide an electronic image stabilization for 4K video capture. As for the front camera, it is an 8-megapixel f/2.0 imager with Sony's IMX268 plus auto-focus, which is very appealing for those who love selfies.

Other key specifications include a non-removable 4,070 mAh battery with Quick Charge, 1080p resolution, fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass sensors. The potential price for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 would be approximately at $485 when it becomes available to the public. It comes in Piano Black and Glacier Silver colors.

Set to be available by November 1, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have a special model that will support 37 different 4G LTE bands, thus making it very much accessible in almost any country.
