'Limitless' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Is There Still Hope for the Show? Fans Start Online Petition! Plot Details

"Limitless" has long been confirmed to be ultimately cancelled already, but the fans' love for the show is still keeping the faith afloat. Now, an online petition has been initiated in hopes that a network actually picks up "Limitless" Season 2.

"Limitless" Cancellation

A few months ago, the first Season of "Limitless" had concluded. Little did fans know that it would already be the first and final one already, as its mother network, CBS, had decided to ax the show from their lineup. With this, millions of fans of "Limitless" Season 2, or what was left of them, took their frustration to social media.

For several times, they have managed to capture the attention of the showrunners, who then responded by lobbying the show to different networks. Showrunner Craig Sweeny had already endorsed "Limitless" Season 2 to The CW, NBC, and FOX, and even streaming service providers such as Amazon and Netflix. However, he did not succeed in acquiring finalized contracts with all these networks.

The main reason behind the rejection from networks was that the plot of "Limitless" Season 2 was far too complicated than they expected. The drugs, social issues, crime, science fiction, comedy, and drama have all mixed together to form a very interesting premise with an overtly intricate course of actions.

This dilemma then led many fans of "Limitless" to believe that the showrunners may change the plot for Season 2, which originally intended to stick with their first formula. Fans also feared that "Limitless" star Jake McDorman might be replaced with someone with a higher star value.

Online Petition

With all these, a petition had started online to air the "Limitless" Season 2. The petition, titled "Renew Limitless for Season 2" seemingly aims to have the show to still air on CBS. The anonymous petitioner had also set the goal to at least 35,000 signers. As of press time, there are already more than 31,000 people who signed the petition, which still seems a bit small as compared to the numbers considered by networks.

Will "Limitless" Season 2 still make it on air and beat all the odds? Tune in to Gamenguide to find out.
