Apple may have accidentally leaked its design for the new MacBook Pro unit. An operating system update that included a handy Apple Pay guide featured images of the upcoming new laptop.
In Apple's latest macOS Sierra 10.12.1 update, the Cupertino-based company included a hidden instruction guide for Apple Pay transactions where images of the new MacBook Pro appeared. The said leaked images revealed some of the laptop's new functions, according to MacRumors.
The Apple Pay images highlighted some of the functions that users will soon enjoy given MacBook Pro's new OLED touch panel. Replacing the old function keys located at the top of the keyboard, the choices depicted on the touch panel appears to change depending on the screen's content.
Some of the new touch panel's functionality also includes support for Touch ID transactions. In the Apple Pay images, users can opt to complete a payment through Touch ID. A hidden button appears to have been added on the new MacBook Pro's OLED touch panel.
Aside from the touch panel and its Touch ID-enabled strip, the leaked images also depicted the new MacBook Pro's slim design and flatter keyboard. However, the Apple Pay guide did not reveal the said laptop's available ports and other features.
Previous reports have already hinted of enhancements that Apple may introduce with its new MacBook Pro laptop. The touch panel was one of the speculated improvements, as well as the removal of the MagSafe port, SD card slot and HDMI connector.
The new MacBook Pro is also said to contain four USB-C ports, as well as a headphone jack. With two size variants of 13 inches and 15 inches, the upcoming new Apple device will be lighter than its older version.
Meanwhile, the Cupertino-tech firm is set to unveil its latest innovations and upcoming products in a special Apple presentation scheduled on Oct. 27, Thursday. Apart from the new MacBook Pro, the company is expected to showcase its new MacBook Air, as well as potential updates for its iMac units.
