There will be war at the Litchfield Penitentiary when “Orange is the New Black” returns for its fifth season on Netflix in the middle of next year. This is just one of the repercussions brought about by the death of Poussey (Samira Wiley) last season.
Her friend Taystee (Danielle Brooks) will not be taking Poussey’s death just like that and will make sure that she will avenge her friend’s death in the “Orange is the New Black” new season. Brooks told The Hollywood Reporter that there will be war in the prison when the series returns. The actress said that her character has nothing more to lose since she already lost everyone that she cared deeply about in her life.
Brooks added that Taystee will not just sit around and do nothing as the prison just downplays her friend’s death. She is specially mad at Caputo (Nick Sandow) for not even honoring Poussey.
According to “Orange is the New Black” spoilers, another major character will meet her death and rumors are rife that the unlucky character is no less than Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling). But, who would want her dead? It could be recalled that Piper made an enemy out of Stella Carlin (Ruby Rose) when she became the reason why Stella was transferred to maximum security prison.
Piper wanted to teach Stella to learn not to mess with her last season in “Orange is the New Black” when Stella withdrew her profits in their underwear business. Speculations are now rife that Stella will try to get her revenge in the new season. Another possible person that could be Piper’s killer is Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) which could be due to her involvement with Kubra (Eyas Younis).
Schilling has previously mentioned in a Pop Sugar interview that Piper will have a difficult time in “Orange is the New Black” Season 5. Whether she makes it out in one piece and more importantly, alive is something that fans are looking forward to in the coming season.
Meanwhile, Taryn Manning who plays Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Dogget may not be seen in the new season of “Orange is the New Black” as she is headed for rehab. Manning recently admitted her drinking problem and she volunteered to enter rehab. It is not yet clear if she will be out for the season or has quit the series all together. This will certainly be unfortunate because her character is one of the most loved in the show.
