With the recent start of the 2016-2017 NBA schedule, all eyes are now on LeBron James and his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, as they head into the new season as the defending champions. LeBron James, who also won last season's Most Valuable Player (MVP) title, is especially under pressure to lead his teammates to a consecutive title by summer next year.
But it is looking more and more that LeBron James will try to pull off double duty as he has been increasingly vocal with his politics. Just a few weeks ago, TMZ reported that LeBron James slammed GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump for trying to justify his leaked anti-women chat with host Billy Bush from 2005.
Will this mean that LeBron James will be voting for Hillary Clinton in the elections? That, at least, can be assured, as he notably wrote an op-ed endorsing Clinton in the Business Insider. While he is, of course, not the most reliable source of political opinions, LeBron James is a star in his home state of Ohio. Historically, Ohio is considered as the most important swing state by political scientists and his opinion will count for something come Election Day.
