'Minecraft's' Own Markus "Notch" Persson Is 2nd In TIME's "Most Influential Person" Online Poll

It's that "time" again where readers cast their votes for TIME Magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and coming in at an honorable 2nd, is "Minecraft" creator Markus "Notch" Presson.

As the creator of "Minecraft," the easily affordable and literal sandbox game with an audience that numbers in the millions for PC, various mobile devices, and Xbox 360 alike, Notch's accolades are well known at this point.

Notch received over 156,00 votes for inclusion on the list, and is settled between Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi at first, who found his place after the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, and creator of the file hosting site Megaupload, Kim Dotcom at third.

Notch managed to beat out other well knowns such as Barack Obama, Pope Francis, George Lucas, Michael Bloomberg, and Beyonce (which I couldn't be happier about) to grab his second place spot.

The final list will be selected by TIME's editors, and will be revealed on Thursday, April 18th.
