CNet stated that Martin bought the old bowling alley and turned it into an interactive art display. The author let over 100 artists create the House of Eternal Return, showcasing a wide array of speculative science fiction projects.

ArsTechnica wrote that the House of Eternal Return opened in March 2016. The Victorian house is the first structure that guests will see. It used to be owned by the missing Selig family.
House of Eternal Return visitors are invited to discover secret passageways into fantastic dimensions. Each one can choose their own path through the exhibition, which spans 20,000 square feet.
The art space lets visitors solve puzzles, gather clues and unravel the many mysteries inside. House of Eternal Return guests can also know more about the Selig family by reading their journals, going through their things and finding answers.
The House of Eternal Return also charges an admission fee. Guests only have to follow a few simple rules while inside. There are several things to do and see inside the House of Eternal Return, such as a warped floor and walls, a portal to another dimension, a toilet bowl that hands out an important clue, a refrigerator that takes people to outer space and mini-games.
According to Martin, he was impressed with how the House of Eternal Return was said to be unattached to both time and space. It was believed to feature portals to other worlds, which sparked his creative side. The author said that the House of Eternal Return is unique to all other art exhibits and they hope for the place to become one of the premiere attractions in Santa Fe for years to come.
