Michael Douglas shared what he knew about his friend and co-star Val Kilmer's health condition. The 72-year-old actor revealed that Kilmer is battling against oral cancer and things aren't looking too good on him. The veteran actor made this statement at a conference in London last weekend while talking over the 1996 movie "The Ghost and the Darkness" which also featured Kilmer.
It was previously reported that Douglas won his fight against his stage 4 oral cancer in 2013. Douglas said that Kilmer is dealing with the exact condition he had and this is the reason why Kilmer hasn't been heard too much lately.
In previous reports, Kilmer was rushed to UCLA Medical Center, January of last year. A statement was released by his representative saying that the actor was under some test for a possible tumor. The star of Top Gun denied the rumored cancer battle on his Facebook account.
Kilmer posted on Facebook stating he has to stick around under the care of UCLA ICU although he didn't have any tumor or undergone any operation. He asked his fans not to worry about him.
Kilmer's health again was placed into the spotlight when he was sighted at the same medical facility in October 2015. Once again, the actor denied the speculations. From a report in People, pictures of Batman Forever star with what looks like a tracheostomy tube attached to his neck ignited the rumored cancer battle. He was also seen wearing scarves.
Though a faint scar can still be seen on Kilmer's neck he appeared to be more active doing some errands February this year. Could this mean that the rumor about his oral cancer was true after all and he is also a survivor just like Michael Douglas? Kilmer has yet to respond to Douglas' statement.
