"Star Trek: Discovery" is said to be all set for production of Fuller's dream voyage to outer space on the starship. However, the female Lieutenant Commander role to take full command of the ship has not been filled yet.

There were delays in the production of "Star Trek: Discovery" due to high budget demands amounting to US$ 6-7 million per episode. Digitaltrends reported that the series' enormous cost requirement parallels to that of Game of Thrones or even higher.

Additionally, "Star Trek: Discovery" is having a difficulty in moving forward because of the tight schedules of its show runner Bryan Fuller. Unfortunately, after negotiations with CBS, Fuller has been reported to leave as show runner and will only assist in providing direction according to Gamenguide.

"Star Trek: Discovery " is set in a time frame 10 years before the start of the first "Star Trek TV series. The show had been aired 50 years ago with its anniversary this year, 2016.

Entertainment Weekly revealed that "Star Trek: Discovery" will be available worldwide in 188 countries via Netflix. The pilot will be shown at the CBS TV network. However, the next episodes will be for restricted released in the US and Canada through the CBS All Access.

"Star Trek: Discovery" will have its premiere in May 2017 instead of the targeted date in January 2017. Fuller and EP Alex Kurtzman, the show's producer promised a high quality show for the viewers. In Fuller's absence though, Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts will take over the filming and post production touches of the series.
