“Pokemon Go” players suffered a bit of a setback following the erratic stand of FastPokeMap. With the third-party app flickering, gamers are left in the dark to play the game and do more walking to pin down the elusive pocket monsters.
Most would have had an easier time had Niantic Labs introduced a better in-game tracking system that could be of more use to “Pokemon Go” players. Though the game developer may have purposely done this to get people to play the game with constant movement, the sense of direction angle on where the critters are at is what has been turning off some players.
There are still a couple of apps available for “Pokemon Go” players though they do come with limitations. These are PokeMesh and Pokewhere where their most glaring threat is a potential account suspension or game ban.
PokeMesh is something that can be used by “Pokemon Go” players who are monster hunting on Android devices. To use it, players need to be logged into their official “Pokemon Go” account. Once logged on, players get aid from Google Map and get an estimate on how long that spawn will be up. Gyms and PokeStops will also be plotted for players to locate.
PokeWhere can be used for both Apple and iOS “Pokemon Go” players. It offers fairly similar features as PokeMesh as previously detailed. Worth noting as well is that both PokeMesh and PokeWhere places “Pokemon Go” accounts at risk since these apps are against Niantic’s terms of service, Neurogadget reported.
It remains to be seen of future third-party apps would pop up to aid the lost “Pokemon Go” players. Niantic is expected to release the Gen 2 version and it remains to be seen if the built-in tracking system will be improved, something that was covered in a previous post here on Game and Guide.
