Over the long weekend, the people behind the crime drama series "Longmire" held a social media stampede to encourage Netflix to renew the show. This is the second time the show seems to be on a chopping block, as it previously received a cancellation from its original network, A&E, before being picked up by Netflix. Now, production remains optimistic about Netflix renewal of "Longmire" Season 6 following the social media stampede held over the Halloween weekend.
Yesterday, the "Longmire Posse" as it would like to be called on Twitter, replied to a fan asking if there will be a "Longmire" Season 6. It replied that while there is no official word from the streaming service, the production remains optimistic about Netflix renewal. The social media stampede for "Longmire" Season 6 took place on Sunday, October 31 when fans and supporters took to Facebook and Twitter to show their love for the show for tweeting the hashtag "#LongmireS6" at Netflix.

The series based on Craig Johnson's "Walt Longmire Mysteries" has had one dramatic history since it debuted in June 2012 on A&E. The network canceled the show in August 2014 despite strong viewership. The show was then shopped to other networks and Netflix picked it up for its fourth season. Back in September, Netflix debuted the show's fifth episode and now fans are wondering if we'll ever get to see "Longmire" Season 6.
If the production remains optimistic about Netflix renewal, this means that the streaming service is already in its decision-making process for bringing the show back for another season. "Longmire" Season 6 may see the return of Robert Taylor as Walt Longmire, Katee Sackhoff as Vic Moretti, Lou Diamond Phillips as Henry Standing Bear and Cassidy Freeman as Cady Longmire.
As of now, "Longmire" Season 6 fans need to keep their fingers crossed as production is optimistic about Netflix renewal. Thankfully, we can binge watch the fifth season while waiting.
