Friday the 13th: The Game Release Date, Gameplay, Plot and More!

The release date of the Friday the 13th: The Game is set in 2016, however, Gun Media announced that there's going to be a delay. Fans are worried that they might have to wait longer for the horror game to come out. To their disappointment, the game's developer announced that it won't be released in 2016.

The survival-horror game, Friday the 13th: The Game will be released in 2017 but the exact date is yet to be announced. This will give Gun Media the opportunity to work on a single-player experience and offline AI bots, in addition to the multiplayer mode.

There will be no extra charges for those who pre-ordered the game to avail the single player mode. According to Gamespot, $40USD will be collected if the digital copy is ordered and $60USD for those who wanted a hard copy of the file.

In Spring of next year, the multiplayer mode featuring Tommy Jarvis and the third playable map, Packanack Lodge will be available. Tommy Jarvis will be seen returning at Camp Crystal Lake in Friday the 13th: The Game. This time around, he is included in the list of characters that players can control. Likewise, Packanack Lodge will surely add extra excitement since the map will allow the players to return to the past scenes of the game.

According to Gun Media studio head and co-creator Wes Keltner , "It sucks that there's a delay, but the wait won't be too long and it's going to offer more for fans in the long-run!" He stressed that deciding to postpone the release date of the Friday the 13th: The Game was a hard decision. He also suggested in his statement that the reason of the delay is far more favorable to the players.

Keltner said that the highly anticipated game has now been made bigger after the funding was secured. Friday the 13th: The Game initially went through crowdfunding campaign in Kickstarter and reached its funding goal of $700,000.
