The wait for the "Mortal Kombat X" expansion pack is getting longer and longer and to make matters worse, co-creator Ed Boon has even unconfirmed the all "Mortal Kombat X" Pack 3 developments. NetherRealm Studios has instead diverted its attention to "Injustice 2."

However, there is some good news though. Players waiting for the "Mortal Kombat X" expansion pack can enjoy lot of content from the previous pack. Additional characters could also be added to the third pack such as Rain, Baraka and Fujin.

These characters may also come across those from the 1990s classic game such as Saibot, Noob, Smoke, Sindel, Lin Mei and Jade. Fans have been in fact asking for the "Mortal Kombat X" expansion pack since September right after they got a peak at the new DLC add-ons.

Now that NetherRealm Studios' focus has shifted to "Injustice 2," the progress of the "Mortal Kombat X" expansion pack has likely been halted. It is a business strategy developers often adopt when titles coming from the same developer clash. Hence, developers delay game releases by even a quarter of a year before finally releasing another franchise.

Now that "Injustice 2" is set to be launched in the first quarter of 2017, the "Mortal Kombat X" expansion pack may be released after March 2017. Rumors about the third DLC have been making rounds for a long time. Even the studio was surprised when 66 percent of fans voted for the third pack.

For the time being, fans have to remain content with the new features introduced to the "Mortal Kombat X" Pack 2. These features are pretty interesting and can keep fans glued for quite a while. Here's a quick look at why "Mortal Kombat X" Pack 3 won't happen anytime soon. Stay tuned on GameNGuide for more updates on the "Mortal Kombat X" expansion pack.
