‘Left 4 Dead’ Latest News & Update: Unfinished “Dam It” Campaign Launched For Free By Turtle Rock Studios

Turtle Rock Studios recently released the last and unfinished "Left 4 Dead" campaign that they were developing, before Valve acquired the zombie shooter game. Turtle Rock Studios may be rearranging their projects, since they also announced that they have stopped working on "Evolve."

"Left 4 Dead" Latest News: "Dam It" Campaign Features Two Maps That Were Never Launched

Kotaku reported that the unfinished "Left 4 Dead" campaign is titled "Dam It," which is set at a small rural airfield. "Left 4 Dead" players have to fight their way through locations like an apple orchard, a hiking trail, a ravine and camping ground.

There are two finales at the end. The main finale is at a hydroelectric dam, while the second is at a logging camp, where players will be asked to divide to offer covering fire. "Left 4 Dead" also featured two standalone survival maps that were never launched.

PCGamer stated that the "Dam It" campaign in "Left 4 Dead" is available for free for gamers who own the title. Co-founder Chris Ashton provided a link to the third-party source in the Turtle Rock forums for fans to download the unfinished campaign. The "Left 4 Dead" content stitches together the "Dead Air" and "Blood Harvest" campaigns, which already released.

To download the "Left 4 Dead" unfinished campaign, players can opt for the automatic install by unzipping the .vpk file and double clicking to launch. They can also manually install by unzipping the .vpk file and copying the "Left 4 Dead" 'addons' folder.

"Left 4 Dead" Latest News: Gameplay Issues To Watch Out For

"Left 4 Dead" players also have to be aware of existing issues in "Dam It," such as smoke, fire and explosions not triggering panic events in the hangers. In the apple orchard, zombies will not crawl constantly. In the distant part of the woods, farm house mob will not spawn.

The burned forest region will have missing wandering fires. The covered bridge will not collapse with explosions. The original "Left 4 Dead" was created by Turtle Rock Studio before the title was acquired by Valve.

The latter studio proceeded to develop "Left 4 Dead 2" internally. As for "Evolve," the game servers are still online under 2K Games. More updates and details on "Left 4 Dead" are expected soon.
