‘Dishonored 2’ Release Date, News & Update: Helpful Tip Unlocks Game On Steam Ahead Of Release; PC Issues Revealed
Many gamers have been looking forward to the upcoming release of "Dishonored 2." Latest news teased of a tip to play the game on Steam earlier than the launch date and other interesting details.
"Dishonored 2" may be one of the highly anticipated gaming titles of the year. With a new in-game world, the return of a familiar face including a new playable character, many players have been counting the days before it gets released to various markets.
U.S. gamers excited to play "Dishonored 2" earlier than the scheduled launch, a gaming tip posted on a NeoGAF forum, as cited by Polygon, shared how the game can be unlocked on Steam prior its release date. Given the different time-zones, players can opt to change a few PC settings to adjust the date.
The setting changes involve logging out of the Steam mobile app, as well as inputting a new password through the Steam's desktop version. Gamers are also advised to install several VPN services such as FlyVPN, TunnelBear, VyprVPN or VPN Gate.
The said services will help players to connect to a different server located outside of the U.S. Players can use a server located in Asia, New Zealand, as well as Australia given the said countries earlier time-zones as compared to North America.
With the said changes, players can log into Steam and purchase "Dishonored 2." The game will then be available for download a day earlier than the U.S. launch date.
In other news, PC users who are looking to purchase the latest installment to the "Dishonored" gaming franchise may encounter a few issues with "Dishonored 2." An early game review made by a NeoGAF user made mention of technical issues where the game struggled to play at 60 FPS (frames per second) with a 1440p resolution, Gamerant reported.
Despite having a powerful PC and turning off several game settings, the problem still persisted. There were moments when "Dishonored 2's" PC version even dipped to 13 FPS, according to the NeoGAF user.
At this time, it is unclear if the game's PC version will get a patch to address the technical issues. Bethesda has yet to comment on the said news. "Dishonored 2" will be released on Nov. 11 for PC, Xbox One and PS4. Watch the game's launch trailer below:
