"Kong: Skull "Island is an upcoming fantasy action-adventure Kaiju (Strange Beast) monster film directed by Jordan Vogt- Roberts serves as the reboot of the King Kong franchise as it tells its origins of the mythical creature (King Kong) in a compelling original adventure.
The upcoming fantasy, action adventure movie "Kong: Skull Island" was announced back in 2014 at the San Diego Comic Convention, The film is intended to be part of the King Kong- Godzilla film series by Legendary Pictures with the cast consisting of Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman and John C. Kelly.
According to a film synopsis of "Kong: Skull Island," the film will take a trip back to the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes. The new film will follow a team of explorers (led by Captain James Conrad a character played by Tom Hiddleston), who will enture deep inside the treacherous, primordial island to find the leader's brother and a mythical serum, confronting extraordinary creatures along the way.
With that said the upcoming fantasy movie "Kong: Skull Island" houses an astounding array of charactersw with talented actors to portray them. The cast is led by Tom Hiddleston (Captain James Conrad), Brie Larson, (Weaver) Samuel L. Jackson, (Packard) John Goodman, ( Bill Randa), John Mitchell ( Glenn Mill), Jing Tian (San), Tobby Kebbell (Champman), Thomas Mann (Blake Simpson, Marc Evan Jackson (Woodward) and Terry Notary (Kong) which is played via motion capture.
"Kong:Skull Island" is directed by John Voght- Roberts and written by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy and Derek Conolly. The filming will begin this fall and is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 2017 in 2D, 3D and iMax 3D.
Legendary confirmed that they would unite Godzilla and King Kong in "Godzilla vs. Kong", set on a May 29, 2020 release date. Legendary plans to create a shared cinematic franchise "centered on Monarch" and that "brings together Godzilla and Legendary's King Kong in an ecosystem of other strange beast both classic and new". While Legendary will maintain its home at Universal Pictures, it will continue to collaborate with Warner Bros. for the franchise.
