"Outlast" is basically referred to as the horror-survival game patterned after "The Blair Witch Project" concept. It started out as a single player campaign wherein the player takes the role of Miles Upshur, a well-known investigative journalist. Gamers are expecting "Outlast 2" to have pretty much the same concept from its predecessor, only with different locations and characters.
True enough, "Outlast 2" has gotten rid of Miles Upshur and has replaced him with a fellow investigative journalist named Blake Langermann. "Outlast 2" is reportedly set in the desert of Arizona, where Blake Langermann tries to investigate the murder of a woman. However, the plot twist happens when Blake and his wife find themselves in the middle of a dark and twisted world they had never imagined.
'Outlast 2' Game Play Updates
"Outlast 2" playable demo was released in October which gave the players a sneak peek of its gameplay. Majority of the reactions and feedback from players pointed to a quiet, unexplosive yet eerily appealing gameplay.
With that in mind, Red Barrels Studio has successfully achieved their desired concept - to make "Outlast 2" players scare themselves with their imagination. Red Barrels Studio co-founder previously said that "Outlast 2" is their experimental venture into creating more mature game plot without necessarily being afraid of risking their profits.
