'Overwatch' News & Update: 'Overwatch' Free Weekend On PC, PlayStation 4 & Xbox One. Here's How To Get It

Blizzard Entertainment announced the "Overwatch" Free Weekend on Wednesday. For a limited period of time, the team-based video game will be playable without charge on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

"Overwatch" Free Weekend will be starting on November 18 at 11:00 am EST and will end on the 21st of November at 04:00 pm EST. Anyone interested in the free game downloads must have a PlayStation Plus for PS4 gamers, an Xbox Live Gold membership for Xbox One gamers and an account with Battle.net for Windows user. There will be no special keys and sign up codes required to download "Overwatch."

Quick Play, Play vs. Al, Custom Game and Weekly Brawl are the different play modes that will be available in the three-day "Overwatch" Free Weekend period. Each of the game modes and maps can support 12 players in a 6 versus 6 formats. Gamers may also get the chance to learn and master their heroes' abilities in a series of training modes such as the Tutorial, Practice Range, and Practice vs. Al.

According to Cinemablend, players will have access to the 22 game heroes during the "Overwatch" Free Weekend. These heroes will have the chance to explore new battlegrounds such as the Temple of Anubis, Route 66, King's Row and Lijiang Tower as 13 incredibly well-designed maps will be included in the free game. Loot Boxes and variety of different customization options to unlock are few of the additional freebies. The game's file size is approximately 12 GB.

On a report cited in Polygon, any progress made, earned items from the Loot Boxes and level up will be carried over to the paid version of the game. This only applies if the game is purchased on the same Battle.net, a PlayStation Plus or an Xbox Live Gold accounts used during the "Overwatch" Free Weekend.
