Since "Vampire Diaries" Season 8 first aired on screen, fans have been anticipating the return of Nina Dobrev in the series. Now, reports are claiming that Dobrev and Somerhalder have finally agreed on filming the series.
Julie Plec in an interview expressed that the role of Nina Dobrev in the "Vampire Diaries" is very crucial in maintaining the momentum of the series, and without her character would be a devastation, Digital Spy reports. Fans have always enjoyed the chemistry between Damon and Elena, and bringing them back together would certainly deliver a stronger storyline.
According to Gamenguide, Nina is reportedly reprising her role as Elena in the series. Insiders have reported that Dobrev negotiated with showrunner Julie Plec, revealing her comeback terms, which specifically to remove Ian in the Vampire Diaries storyline.

However, sources have claimed that Julie Plec was able to lay down her terms as well, convincing the two main casts to film together. Insiders also claimed that Nina will be reprising a full role up to the end of the "Vampire Diaries" Season 8.

It is reported that the two stars have finally moved on from their past feud, and are now starting baby steps to rebuild their friendship. With Nina and Ian back on the "Vampire Diaries" Season 8, it is likely to see Elena and Damon reunited once again.
