In the scene, the latter is found putting on a neckpiece around her daughter's neck while asking her to have faith in the Force. The unravelling of the necklace might not have grabbed attention from the audiences but the way the trailer reveals the scene, it seems the episode has a key role to play in the flick.

According to Techno Buffalo, it is being speculated that the pendant could play a challenging role in concluding the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". The neckpiece is expected to take the characters to the Death Star. The speculations are that the pendant is a kyber crystal that could act as a key element to empower the Death Star's superlaser.
If the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" updates are to be followed, Jyn's father Galen Erso played by Mads Mikkelsen will be attempting to make the superlaser work. In the movie, Galen has been portrayed as a person with all required knowledge about crystals. He is the character who will give the Empire a chance to access the Death Star.
