Following his historic win at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden – the UFC first event in New York City – Mystic Mac had a message for the new owners of the biggest MMA promotion.
“They have to come talk to me now,” Conor McGregor said during the post fight presser. “I mean, who owns the company now? People have shares in the company. Celebrities. Conan O’Brien owns the UFC nowadays.”
“Where’s my shares? Where’s my equity? If I’m the one bringing this in, they’ve got to talk to me, that’s what I know… I want what I deserve, what I’ve earned.”
UFC president Dana White said Saturday’s blockbuster event “broke all the records,” which includes the live gate (17.7 million), as well as the current pay-per-view record of 1.65 million, which was set during Conor McGregor’s rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202.
Conor McGregor has headlined four of the company’s five biggest events during his unprecedented three-year run in the UFC on his way to becoming the face of the sport of MMA.
“This is a multi-billion company. Whoever owns this whole [expletive] needs to come to me and give me my slice because that’s what I’ve earned. I’ve earned all of this,” Conor McGregor said.
The two-division champion also announced that he and his girlfriend are expecting a child in May of next year. Until the new UFC owners submits to Conor McGregor’s demands, fans may not see the sport’s biggest star in a while.
