"Pretty Little Liars" first aired on cable channel, ABC Family, on June 8, 2010. Initially, the series was created with just 10 episodes but another 12 was added to Season 1. the success of the show made it possible for it to reach "Pretty Little Liars" Season 7 through its 6-year run.

After the show's spin-off titled "Ravenswood" was canceled in 2013, the following year, ABC Family renewed the series for the sixth and seventh seasons. However, in August 2016, the cable channel confirmed that "PLL" is ending with "Pretty Little Liars" Season 7 within the second quarter of 2017.
