Michelle Obama recently graced the cover of Vogue magazine for the very first time. Not long afterward, a local major made degrading remarks against the First Lady, calling her an "Ape in Heels." Her racist remarks received intense criticisms and may cost her position.

Michelle Obama is known for her exceptional grace and wit, and to make degrading remarks to the First Lady is beyond insult to many. Following the elections last week, Trump voters rejoiced over the results. One director of a state and non-profit organization in West Virginia may have been too overwhelmed, posting racist remarks against the First Lady, per Huffington Post.

Clay County Development Corp. director Pamela Ramsey Taylor took to Facebook her derogatory remarks against the First Lady after Donald Trump won the U.S. 2016 elections. The Internet was quick to criticize Taylor and even indicted another person into the whole mess -- mayor of a small town near Charleston.
"It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I'm tired of seeing a[n] Ape in heels," she wrote. To which, Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling responded, "Just made my day Pam."
West Virginia Official Removed From Post
While Taylor reportedly deleted the post, many were able to capture her words against Michelle Obama in screenshots. The exchange was then shared thousands of times over, with intense criticisms over Taylor's racist remarks. The critics were quick to call for the officials 'removal from their posts on Sunday night.
An online petition gathered more than 84, 0000 signatures, calling for the eviction of Taylor and Whaling from their posts. The online accounts of the two officials were sine then deleted, however, Taylor earlier posted an apology, saying her words were misunderstood.
In an interview with WSAZ, Taylor claimed that the criticisms against her Facebook post were a hate crime intended for her. So much so that she is now receiving death threats for her comment.
Meanwhile, Clay Major Whaling apologized in a statement to Washington Post. Her statement was misinterpreted and was no way to be racist.
