According to various reports, "Death Stranding", the latest game created by Hideo Kojima, the brains behind the wildly popular Metal Gear series, will likely be unavailable to play on PlayStation 4 due to Sony and the famous game designer not seeing to eye to eye. At present, it is believed that "Death Stranding" is being subject to major improvements to ensure the game’s stability when introduced to other gaming hardware such as Windows’ Xbox One.
Prior to putting up his own company Kojima Productions in 2005, the famous game designer was employed by Konami Digital Entertainment as its vice president. Other games that Kojima has directed aside from "Death Stranding" in his long-standing career include "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" and "Zone of the Enders".
While some reports suggest that tensions between the two parties continue to rise, other sources are quick to debunk such rumors. Kojima himself is said to be unfazed and has instead chosen to focus his time working on "Death Stranding".
Kojima’s exit from Konami has been a major disappointment for fans of "Metal Gear". With plans for Episode 51 of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" no longer underway due to alleged budget problems, players will have to make do with an ending that provides more questions than answers. Initially, Episode 51 was meant to tackle Diamond Dogs’ quest as they searched for Eli, Big Boss’ clone. This would then eventually lead to a fight between Eli and Metal Gear Sahelanthropus.
The first game in the "Metal Gear" series debuted in 1987 under Konami. Since then, several sequels have been produced and made available for various platforms. Such sequels have been recipients of numerous awards and critical acclaim, and the games adapted into novels, comics, and drama CDs. Trademark characteristics of the game include but not limited to its offbeat humor, complex storylines, and its penchant for breaking the fourth wall.
