"Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" has been released on Android and iOS. The new "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beast" inspired game is one Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment new game titles this year.

"Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" was released worldwide on Nov. 17 and it was announced via Warner Bros. website. Although fans have been anticipating that the "Harry Potter Go" game will finally be released, this hidden-object finding sort of game arrived instead.

But fans were happy about it. This is because, the release of "Harry Potter Go" is not certain anyway. It was all speculations until now so the launch of "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" was welcomed by fans.

How the Game is Played

The object in the game of "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" is to look for hidden items. Players will play as one of Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures' Beast Division's new recruits who are required to cast spells and brew potions to solve their cases.

While on the hunt for clues, "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" players will get to explore popular locations in the "Harry Potter" film like the Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and Leaky Cauldron. The clues are needed to find some missing mystical creatures.

Players of "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" earn points after finding all the hidden objects in each scene. The points are added up in order to unlock stars that can be used for completing major tasks later in the game.

J.K. Rowling Approved the Game

SnitchSeeker was able to interview Mary Casey, the producer of "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" and the text of the exchange was published on Nov. 19. The producer talked about the game, J.K. Rowling's participation and how "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts" are featured in the game.

To the question if J.K. Rowling is aware of the "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" game, Casey said that the author's team was guiding the creators of the game to ensure that everything will be authentic. It was added that the two teams worked closely together in producing the game, thus Rowling knows about it from the start.

Lastly, Casey also shared that players will see bits and pieces of "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts" in the "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" game.

"This game is set in the Ministry of Magic, and draws a lot of inspiration from Harry Potter's Wizarding World," Casey said in the interview. "At the same time, we've worked really closely with J.K.Rowling's team and the theatrical team on "Fantastic Beasts" to get the look, feel and behavior of the beasts correct."
