"Rick & Morty" season 3 cancellation rumors are all over the Internet as December looms ahead. With no promotional video released for the upcoming season, many fans fear that the premiere will be delayed further next year. While it was initially confirmed that season 3 will air on December, another hint seemed to suggest otherwise.
'Rick & Morty' Season 3 To Air On December?
"Rick & Morty" season 3 was initially set out to premiere on December 2 as earlier reported by GameNGuide. Fans have been clamoring for more when the series went into hiatus on October 4, 2015. However, it seems that hit Adult Swim animated series will be pushed further back into 2017.
While the creators admitted that "Rick & Morty" season 3 script is already done, many believe that there's isn't enough time for the animation process to be completed before the year ends. In fact, a Reddit user claiming to be the Design Assistant said that one episode is fully-animated and only 9 out of the 14 episodes are completely written.
This is in contrast to what series writer Erica Rosbe said in a podcast interview in September. She revealed that the show will wrap up within a few weeks, leading many to believe that "Rick & Morty" season 3 will meet its December premiere date.

However, a month after the said interview, she took to Twitter to clear the air of any misunderstanding. One fan got answers straight from the horse's mouth about "Ricky & Morty" season 3, confirming that there's no premiere date as of publication time.
"Rick & Morty" season 3 co-creator Dan Harmon also confirmed that there's no definite air date yet per CinemaBlend. However, they are hoping to premiere season 3 before 2016 ends.
Merchandise Hint Further Delay?
Aside from the conflicting details about "Rick & Morty" season 3 air date, another evidence seemed to point out that it will be delayed further into 2017. According to latest reports, Zen Monkey Studios --official merchandise partner -- posted a cryptic message on Twitter suggesting the delay.
