The premiere of the hit Freeform original drama “Shadowhunters” Season 2 will see the hunt for Jace (Dominic Sherwood) after he left his adopted family, the Lightwoods. In the previous season finale, Jace and his love Clary (Katherine McNamara) were revealed to be siblings. Their relationship is not expected to continue in the coming second season.
In the “Shadowhunters” Season 2 premiere titled “This Guilty Blood”, all hell breaks loose after Jace’s decision to leave the Institute with Valentine according to the official synopsis of the episode by Spoiler TV. Clary, Alec (Matthew Daddario) and Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) are determined to find him.
Their rescue mission of finding Jace is cut short because of Victor Aldertree (Nick Sagar). Victor wants nothing more than to get the Institute back on track. But, his plan of getting the New York Shadowhunters to work together with The Clave may run counter to Clary, Alec and Isabelle’s plan of saving Jace according to “Shadowhunters” Season 2 spoilers.
Elsewhere in the same “Shadowhunters” Season 2 premiere episode, Jocelyn (Maxim Roy) finally wakes up and later realizes that she has a lot of catching up to do. Meanwhile, a promo teaser for the new season has also been released.
In the “Shadowhunters” promo trailer, the search for Jace and how the complication will have an effect on Clary are revealed. Maryse Lightwood (Nicola Correia-Damude) can be seen telling the shadowhunters that Valentine has the Mortal Cup and is about to build his own army. Lightwood also tells her audience that Valentine has a shadowhunter that accompanies him.
Also seen in the promo video on the show’s official Twitter account for the “Shadowhunters” Season 2 premiere is Victor Aldertree, the new head of the New York Institute. He can be seen in the trailer talking about his plans for the organization. He announced that tracking down Jace is his top priority. In order to keep everyone safe, the Institute is on a lockdown.
After Victor’s speech, Clary becomes worried about Jace and is assured by Isabelle that he is strong. Valentine could not possibly get through to him. But later in the promo video, Jace can be seen being punched in the face many times by Valentine’s men. Watch the exciting “Shadowhunters” Season 2 premiere on January 2 on Freeform.
