'Pacific Rim 2' Release Date, Latest News & Update: Cast Member John Boyega Films On Set

As "Pacific Rim 2" nears release date, fans of the franchise had been waiting for spoiler photos to emerge. Luckily, while shooting, "Star Wars" actor, John Boyega, was seen having a blast filming for the upcoming movie. In fact, the images showed Boyega in post-apocalyptic gear which he slayed in "Star Wars."

Online photos emerged showing John Boyega strutting in post-apocalyptic gear for the upcoming "Pacific Rim 2." Entitled as "Pacific Rim: Malestrom," fans hoarded The Daily Telegraph website when they saw the "Star Wars" actor in action.

At present, "Pacific Rim 2" is filming in Cronulla, Australia. The jagged look of Boyega at the venue showed that he would be one of the star characters that would be fighting his way out of the apocalypse as aliens sabotage Earth.  With crumbled buildings surrounding the actor in the photos, fans were said to expect a war has emerged since the first installment, reported Comicbook.

For most fans, the report indicated that they were already too happy that the second installment has started filming. After announcing the possibility of "Pacific Rim 2" after the first installment's release, there had been production delays and cast members took the time to be finalized. However, in February, DeKnight, and Guillermo del Toro confirmed their participation in the film which gave a clearer go signal for the movie to start production.

In other news, Collider reported the scene from "Pacific Rim 2" which showed Boyega strutting in ragged clothes also showed a possible spoiler for the upcoming movie. It was suggested by the source that kaiju monstrosities may have destroyed the world then that the background showed the homeless scattered in camping tents. Catch "Pacific Rim 2" release in theaters this coming Feb. 23, 2018.
