Michel Ancel, the creator of "Beyond Good & Evil 2" said that the game is a very serious development for its developer and publisher, Ubisoft Entertainment. The company is celebrating its 30th anniversary and is currently giving away free games in the next 30 days, which is one of its Ubi30 gaming promotions.

According to GameSpot, Ancel and his team have been properly getting their hands on the sequel of "Beyond Good & Evil 2" since the completion of "Rayman Legends". In an interview with Kotaku, he said that it's a long way to go from its release and they need to have it more concrete before launching it.

Announced in 2008, Ubisoft's "Beyond Good & Evil 2" went astray until September this year when Ancel started dropping hints and teasers by posting photos on Instagram. It went on before an official re-announcement in October, which Ancel assured was not a publicity stunt.

"That was not a gimmick but a way to say 'Look. The game exists and we can do it'," he explained pertaining to the mysterious images posted on Instagram. Previously, he also revealed that technological limitations are one of the reasons why "Beyond Good & Evil 2" is taking time in its development.

Ancel added that he and his team have had huge questions that can't be answered since there is no physics engine that can deal with all dimensions and speed and the like. He also told Kotaku and it's hard to explain to people how technical creating a game is.

"Now it's not anymore about polygons and things like that, it's about millions of behavioural AIs, systems and giant spaceships crashing on big planets," he added. Apart from "Beyond Good & Evil 2", he also leads the development of the game "Wild", which is an open-world survival game where the player can own and ride bears, eagles and more.
