The crossover of Supergirl from CBS to The CW happens in “Supergirl” Season 2 Episode 8 titled “Medusa.” The episode starts with a shocker at the family Thanksgiving celebration when Alex (Chyler Leigh) comes out to her mother Eliza (Helen Slater).

Supergirl’s enemy, the shadowy organization named Project Cadmus, releases a virus on Earth in “Supergirl” Season 2 Episode 8 that would instantly kill any alien in the area. Cadmus is run by Lillian Luthor (Brenda Strong), the mother of Lex Luthor, arch enemy of Superman.
The situation forces Kara to approach and seek help from Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), sister of Lex and foster daughter of Lillian. According to Brenda Strong, Lena was unaware of Lillian’s involvement in Cadmus. Lena would begin in “Supergirl” Season 2 Episode 8 to discover her mother’s mission that would negatively impact their relationship, Econotimes reports.
Lillian Gets Sample of Supergirl’s Blood
In “Supergirl” Season 2 Episode 7, titled “The Darkest Place,” Cadmus abducted Supergirl and Mon-El, which gave Lillian the opportunity to take a sample of Supergirl’s blood, confirming she is an alien. The virus that Cadmus would unleash in “Supergirl” Season 2 Episode 8 is an exclusive virus that would not touch anyone whose organic material is human but attacks aliens, Strong explained. She added the strained relationship is because of their different views about aliens since Lena wants to be friends with Supergirl and change the way society perceives the Luthors.
