LG bootloader unlock tool has now opened support for its latest flagship in the market. Not only was the LG V20 the first smartphone to launch with the Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box but recently, the handset has now been listed on the LG bootloader unlock page. On the other hand, with several reports on malfunctioning Nexus 5Xhandsets, LG reportedly issues full refunds for the faulty devices.
The LG V20 joins the LG G4 (H811) among the few LG devices that are getting an official LG bootloader unlock method. Previously, both the G4 and G5 in the EU open market as well as the LG V10 in Europe (except France) got the bootloader unlock tool. On the other hand, this is reportedly the first time that a handset from North America has made it on the list, Android Police reported.
The LG bootloader unlock page reportedly notes detailed instructions on unlocking the bootloader for the LG V20 in the US open market codenamed US996. The page further notes that the LG warranty is voided after completion of the process. It should be noted that the process of unlocking cannot be undone. In other news, several Nexus 5X phones are reportedly malfunctioning, causing a boot loop and apparently deems an unusable phone. Note that smartphones' warranty usually fix a faulty handset, issue a refurbished unit or replace the item with a new one. However, several posters on the Nexus 5X subreddit reportedly claims that LG is issuing full refunds for the faulty handsets.
LG is said to lack the parts to fix the Nexus devices which have been produced in a low volume, according to report. Hence, parts like the screen housing, unique case and phone motherboard have also been produced in small batches too. Moreover, the Nexus 5X has already been discontinued post-Pixel launch.
