'Street Fighter 5' Release Date, News & Update: Laura Matsuda Receives 'Overwatch's Sombra Skin Mod; Capcom Supporting Game Until 2020
Earlier this year, Capcom's "Street Fighter 5" was released to lukewarm reception by fans and critics alike. The game missed its sales target, selling a modest 1.4 million copies as of March this year. The latest news surrounding "Street Fighter 5" is that the character Laura Matsuda receives "Overwatch"'s Sombra skin mod.
Gamerant reports that the recently released "Overwatch" character Sombra, who arrived to the Blizzard game via a recent update, makes her way to "Street Fighter 5." Laura Matsuda receives "Overwatch"'s Sombra skin mod thanks to a mod creator. During this year's BlizzCon, some fans have noted the resemblance between Sombra and Laura, and it only makes sense that the Sombra skin mod by The JamK would come to fruition.
In addition, The JamK isn't new to the skin mod game, as the gamer has previously created "Street Fighter 5" skins for characters Mei, Tracer, and Reinhardt. Their latest creation comes in the form of Laura Matsuda receving "Overwatch"'s Sombra skin mod.
Meanwhile, in other "Street Fighter 5" news, VG24/7 reports that Capcom is looking to release more content for the fighting video game up until 2020. The goal for them right now is to continue to "solidify 'Street Fighter 5' as an eSports title." Because of this, they will continue supporting game until 2020.
"Street Fighter 5" producer Yoshinori Ono shared that the goal is to increase the number of tournament participants because as this increases, the larger tournaments they can host as well. In turn, this will determine the sales of the game, which will also "decide the future" for "Street Fighter 5."
"Street Fighter 5" is directed by Takayuki Nakayama and is now playable on PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. Check back for more updates on "Street Fighter 5." Meanwhile, check out the video below to find out how Laura Matsuda receives "Overwatch"'s Sombra skin mod.
