‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Latest News & Update: FX Confirms ‘Mayans MC’ Spin-off To Focus On Latino Biker Club! Characters, Plot Details Revealed

FX ended months of speculations about the return of TV series “Sons of Anarchy” by confirming it would come out with a spin-off. The upcoming series would be titled “Mayans MC” which would focus on the Latino biker club.

However, beyond the confirmation of the title of the spin-off, there are no details yet about the timetable and the cast, especially if “Sons of Anarchy” actors would appear in cameo roles in “Mayans MC,” Inquisitr reports. Among the known details of the new show are that Kurt Sutter would produce it and Elgin James would be the upcoming series’ showrunner.

Not A Prequel

But Emilio Rivera (Marcus Alvarez), who was president of the Mayans on “Sons of Anarchy” and is involved in “Mayans MC,” said the spin-off would not be a prequel to the original series. That would make it necessary to make Alvarez look 25 years younger had FX opted to make it a prequel.

Rivera disclosed that FX called him about the new role on the "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off “Mayans MC,” however, he has not inked any contract yet. But the showrunner is a perfect fit for the spin-off because before James became a director, he was part of several outlaw gangs in Boston, grew up in the streets and was jailed but changed his life.

Even if the FX crime drama series “Sons of Anarchy” ended in December 2014, fans of the show continue to ask if they would be able to watch again on the small screen actor Charles Hunnam (Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller), president of Sons of Anarchy mother charter from the initial up to the last season. Although Hunnam has expressed willingness to play the same protagonist role, recent reports said he would unlikely be part of the spin-off “Mayans MC,” according to HNGN.

Why Hunnan Cannot Be Part Of Spin-off

One reason behind his not becoming part of “Mayans MC” is because in “Sons of Anarchy” Season 7, Hunnam died when he sacrificed to save his children. The only thing certain about “Mayan MC,” according to its executive producer, Sutter, is it would be a darker and deep-rooted family drama that showcases the Latino voice.
