Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal happening this August

The upcoming Call of Duty title, Call of Duty: Ghosts, is easily one of those titles that will see a tough competition against the likes of Battlefield 4 from DICE. While DICE has already provided us with a glimpse of how the multiplayer for Battlefield 4 will look like when it officially arrives, we are yet to see something similar from Infinity Ward. However, all that is about to change.

According to Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin, we are set to see the first official glimpse of the multiplayer mode from the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts this August. The information was revealed via Mr. Rubin’s official Twitter page.

“Sorry I haven't been on twitter much lately. We are in our death march push to finish game. Lots left to do. Looking forward to MP in august,” he wrote.

While all this while we have understood that nothing in the gaming industry should be taken for granted as dates and events are always changing, in accordance with the speculations surrounding it, but a prospect of a multiplayer reveal for Ghosts this August is nothing less than a treat (if true) for all dedicated Call of Duty fans out there. Mostly because everyone wants to see what Infinity Ward has up their sleeve compared to DICE’s multiplayer capabilities for Battlefield 4.

The single player aspect of Call of Duty: Ghosts was already unveiled back at the Xbox One reveal event, and later detailed during E3 earlier this year. However, interest in Ghosts seemed more preoccupied in the controllable in-game dog Riley, but nothing about the multiplayer mode of the game.

Earlier this month, Activision announced pre-order bonus Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC in the likeliness of a multiplayer map called Free Fall. Free Fall is said to drop the players inside a collapsing skyscraper while also showing off Infinity Ward’s new dynamic mapping tech, which transforms the environment inside the game.

"Dynamic map events change the way players approach the game, and Free Fall does a great job illustrating this new mechanic. As the match progresses, the geometry of the world continues to change and players need to adjust on the fly or else. It's a really fun new feature that adds layers of strategy and constantly evolving gameplay options for players," Rubin stated that time.

And this is just one of the many new approaches we're putting into Ghosts' multiplayer across the board. There's so much more that we look forward to sharing in the weeks to come."

Call of Duty: Ghosts is currently scheduled for a holiday 2013 release.
