Best-selling author Anne Rice gets back the rights on her "Vampire Chronicles!" The author has expressed her desire to see her stories adapted into the small screens after she regained the theatrical rights to the seminal series of novels. Is Lestat coming to life once more?
Anne Rice Regains Rights To 'Vampire Chronicles'
Anne Rice took to Facebook over the weekend her desire to see her famous creation "Vampire Chronicles" gets adapted into a TV series. After getting back the theatrical rights to the series of novels, the renowned author expressed her wish, Deadline said.
The "Vampire Chronicles" single-handedly redefined the vampire story from the 70s to 80s. Rice said that it's her ultimate dream to see Lestat, Louis, Armand, and Marius on a high-calibre television series.

Vanity Fair added that Rice alongside her son Christopher is working in creating a pilot script for the TV adaptation. The fellow novelist and columnist will collaborate with his mom in creating a comprehensive outline for a television series.
Anne Rice & Her 'Vampire Chronicles'
Rice plans to stay faithful to the original story of the "Vampire Chronicles," which started with 1976s "Interview with the Vampire." Readers were the introduced to the odd relationship of Louis (a French colonial aristocrat) and Lestat (responsible for turning New Orleans into a pool of undead bloodsuckers).
Soon after, "The Vampire Lestat" was released, putting the spotlight to the charismatic and dangerous Lestat. Succeeding books saw Lestat turning into the main protagonist. The latest installment will be released on November 29. Warner Brothers held the theatrical rights to the "Vampire Chronicles" for years. The entertainment company attempted to develop the film into a movie twice.
However, Brad Pitt nor Tom Cruise neither wanted a sequel. This gave birth to the "Queen of the Damned" in 2002. This starred Aaliyah and the film just took in $45 million compared to the first title "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles," which earned a whopping $223 million.
