"Despicable Me 3" is an animated comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment and distributed by Universal Studios. It is the third installment in the "Despicable Me" film franchise and a sequel to the 2013 movie. After the success of the two previous "Despicable Me" movies and its spin off "Minions," fans was given a huge treat when Illumination Entertainment Executive Chris Melandri announced details of the upcoming film particularly its theme and the introduction of a new villain.
Despite having very little details to go on in terms of story reports say that it seems like Dru, the long lost twin brother of Gru will have a crucial role in the film. In fact, film executive Chris Milandri says that with Dru's introduction to the franchise, will provide the upcoming comedy film "Despicable Me 3" with more emotional depth, as well as add a new character within the film due to his likeable personality. Furthermore, Dru will have blonde hair and an all white outfit compared to Gru's all gray scheme and bald facial features.
In addition to these details, "Despicable Me 3" also introduces Balthazar Bratt. Cinemablend reports that the new film villain is described as a former 1980's child star that is pissed off at the world since hitting puberty and his show getting cancelled. He hates being mocked and that fact drives him devise a scheme for world domination and it is up to Gru and his brother to stop him.
Needless to say, "Despicable Me 3" has a solid voice cast member led by Steve Carrel who reprises his role as Gru and the new character Dru, Lucy Wilde as Kristen Wiig, Trey Parker as Balthazar Bratt, Miranda Crosgrove as Miranda, Dana Gaier as Edith, Nev Scharrel as Agnes and Pierre Coffin as Kevin, Bob and Stuart. The upcoming "Despicable Me 3" will hit cinemas on June 30, 2017.
