Grammy Predictions 2017: Who Will Win Song Of The Year – Adele, Sia, Bowie Or Justin Bieber?

Grammy Predictions 2017: Who Will Win Song Of The Year – Adele, Sia, Bowie Or Justin Bieber?

British singer Adele’s hit “Hello” has been prominently mentioned as a heavy favorite to win the Song of the Year in the 2017 Grammy Awards. The list of nominees would be released on Dec. 6, Tuesday, for the 59th annual Grammy Awards.

Songs and albums released between Oct. 1, 2015 and Sept. 30, 2016 qualify to be nominated for the 2017 Grammy Awards. Given that basic criterion, there are at least three favorite songs that do not qualify to be nominated due to their release dates.

Songs Not Qualified

In the website’s list of unqualified songs for nomination to the 2017 Grammy Awards are “Joanne” by Lady Gaga, “Starboy” by Weeknd and “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars However, Bustle writes that Frank Ocean stated he is skipping the awards night even if “Blonde” and “Endless” were released in August 2016 because he did not submit the two songs out of his belief the Grammys does not represent very well people "who came from where he came from."

Forbes’ list of likely nominees for the Song of the Year award in the 2017 Grammy Awards are “Hello” by Adele, “Blackstar” by David Bowie, “I Hate U, I Love U” by Gnash (featuring Olivia O’Brien), “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber, “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” by Justin Timberlake, “7 Years” by Lukas Graham, “My Church” by Maren Morris and “Cheap Thrills” by Sia (featuring Sean Paul).

Three Trophies, One Night

Adele leads the list because the powerhouse singer and songwriter had previously won the Record, Song and Album of the Year on the strength of one single, “Rolling In The Deep.” Adele repeating that feat in the 2017 Grammy Awards is not unlikely. Although it seems weird to see Adele, who announced at her Phoenix concert on Nov. 21 she is pregnant again, harvest three trophies in one night, she had done that and is capable of repeating the feat.

Bustle’s list of Album of the Year nominees for the 2017 Grammy Awards is shorter at five are “25” by Adele, “Lemonade” by Beyonce, “Views” by Drake, “A Moon Shaped Pool” by Radiohead and “Blackstar” by David Bowie. However, the website lists as Wild Cards “Anti” by Rihanna, “Life of Pablo” Kanye West and “Purpose:” by Justin Bieber.
