iCloud Calendar is allegedly the target of spam mail recently. It is said that a massive number of iOS and macOS users have been victim to the iCloud Calendar Invite Spam. In line with this incident, suspicious invitations have reportedly been lurking with an event in the iCloud Calendar listings. Apparently, this includes Ugg Boots, Ray-Ban sunglasses and other products.
Spammers have reportedly taken advantage of a long list of available features in the iCloud Calendar. It is said that iCloud Calendar is being used to extracts invites via email. It should be noted that the iCloud Calendar spammers presents these features as notifications in the calendar apps.
Note that this spam includes a URL in the event description. Note that previous batches tried to trick people into visiting DHL and other sites. Currently, the large wave is designed to entice an unwary user into clicking sites for bargain, Tom's Guide reported.
It should be noted that iCloud Calendar spammers may be sent to the Spam folder altogether. Visit the iCloud Calendar page>Click the Gear icon at the lower left>Preferences>Advanced Icon>Invitations. Change the In-app Notifications to E-mail in the In-App Notifications to the iCloud Address. This is expected to send the invitations to the Spam folder instead.
Meanwhile, note that iCloud Calendar spam victims have the option to click Accept, Maybe or Decline to the unsolicited events on the iCloud Calendar. Note that choosing any of the options will alert the Spammers to track that apparently, the account is active. These also reportedly keep the spammer well informed when to give more unsolicited offers, according to report.
iCloud Calendar alternative method for removing spam events begins at the Calendar app>Calendars button at the bottom. Opt for the Edit button>Add Calendars>Create a "Spam" folder>Click Done.
