Triple H has been missing on WWE television since helping Kevin Owens win the WWE Universal Championship. It is expected that he will return very soon to officially start his WrestleMania 33 feud with Seth Rollins.
"The Game" was absent since losing the WWE World Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32. He showed up on the August 29 episode of Raw to betray Rollins, who is his former protégé. Triple H has not explained his actions but he might soon be returning to Raw.
According to Cageside Seats, Triple H vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 33 is still the plan going into 2017. It is noted that the storyline will start shortly, probably after Rollins' mini-feud with Chris Jericho. "The Architect" is going to face Jericho at Roadblock: End of the Line, which means Triple H may return at the event.
There were talks that Triple H vs. Rollins was going to happen earlier in the Royal Rumble, per Ringside News. The WWE reportedly wanted a big matchup in the Rumble since the event will take place in the 65,000-seater Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
However, those plans were scrapped once Bill Goldberg decided to have two more matches. Goldberg is now part of the 2017 Royal Rumble Match, as well as Brock Lesnar. The names of Goldberg and Lesnar are big enough that the WWE decided to stick with Triple H vs. Rollins at WrestleMania 33.
Many fans are expecting Triple H and Rollins to face each other for some time now. Rollins became a full-blown babyface once he got screwed out of the WWE Universal Championship. The former two-time WWE World Champion is one of the pillars of the company and facing Triple H at the biggest show of the year makes him an even bigger star.
It is a big match that could be built as "Master vs. Protégé" or "The Battle of the Pedigrees." However, these are just rumors at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. But all the signs point out to a massive showdown between Triple H vs. Rollins at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
