Meizu Unveils Two New Smartphone Models: Meet The Meizu Pro 6 Plus And Meizu M3X

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu parades two new handsets. The Meizu Pro 6 Plus as its flagship and the Meizu M3X as an upscale mid-shelf model. Both newly introduced models run its latest Flyme 6.0 OS platform, which is reported to be an extremely customized Android-based operating system.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus

 The Pro 6 plus is a metal-clad unit bearing a 5.7-inch AMOLED display. It registers a QHD resolution of 1440 x 2560 with an always-on feature. GSMArena says the touchscreen registers a 430-nit brightness rating and is supposedly pressure-sensitive. Meizu labels the technology as "3D Press." The smartphone gets gets 4GB of RAM to pair with its Exynos 8890 processor. Its 64GB and 128GB variants get the same CPU, but differ in clock-speed at 2GHz and 2.3GHz respectively. The shooter section grabs a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor and assigns a 10-LED dual-tone ring flash, which wraps around its laser auto-focus unit. Meizu assigns a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The unit combines a fingerprint-reader and an optical heart-rate sensor into one and calls it "mTouch." The phone fast-charges through a USB Type-C port and house a 3400mAh battery. Colors come in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver and Deep Ash. Prices are estimated at $436 for the 64GB version and $480 for the 128GB model.

Meizu M3X

This mid-ranger flaunts a 5.5-inch full-HD LCD touchscreen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Storage options available are 32GB and 64GB. Both run on a 2.3GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor paired with a 3GB RAM and a 4GB RAM for the 64GB model. It carries the same imaging setup of the Pro 6 Plus and the "mTouch" fingerprint-reader and optical hear-rate sensor combo as well. Its battery is around 3200mAh and allows for fast-charging. The model arrives in four colors, Phantom Blue, Obsidian Black, Pearl White and Streamer Gold. The 32GB unit costs $247, while its 64GB sibling costs $290.
