‘Halo Wars 2’ News & Update: Captain James Cutter & Crew Stumble Upon Banished In Game’s Trailer Shown At Game Awards 2016

Microsoft released on Dec. 2 at The Game Awards 2016 the new trailer of “Halo Wars 2.” The new trailer comes almost 30 years after the events of the original “Halo War” and the recent release of “Halo 5: Guardians.”

The trailer showed Captain James Cutter and his men found the Banished, the enemy force which bolted the Covenant. Isabel, an artificial intelligence, explains in the new trailer for “Halo Wars 2” how Atriox and his clan was treated by the Covenant as “expendable muscle” and Atriox’s survival of a lot of battles before he rose to become a legend, Gamerant reports.

Backstory Of The Banished’s Birth

Atriox’s rebellion inspired the birth of the Banished, an army made up of savage killers and mercenaries about to own and control the most powerful weapons platform seen by the galaxy in “Halo Wars 2.” But Captain James Cutter and the USNC Spirit of Fire crew stand in the way of Atriox, according to Nichgamer.

However, the captain and his crew are outgunned by Atriox in “Halo Wars 2.” He has little hope for a reinforcement to stop Atriox from acquiring the weapons platform. To beat Atriox, Captain James Cutter and his men must first know very well their foes which is the first law of the battlefield.

A Force To Reckon With

The trailer of “Halo Wars 2” shows the brutal fighting capabilities of Atriox and how he could control and intimidate Banished, his army. His record of defying and surviving the Covenant makes Atriox a force to be reckoned with by Captain James Cutter and his crew.

Both Xbox One and PC would receive “Halo Wars 2” on its launch on Feb. 21, 2017. On Dec. 20, Microsoft would provide early access to “Halo Wars: Definite Edition” for those who would pre-order the digital version of the game.
